Manitoba Prairie Quilters (MPQ) is a non-profit organization that was founded in February 1983 and is dedicated to the advancement and preservation of the art of quilting in Manitoba. Currently the guild has a membership of more than 300 quilters, crafters and artists from Manitoba, Ontario,Yukon and North Dakota. We endeavor to respect the tradition of quilting and explore modern elements of quilting. Our vision is for the promotion of a greater understanding, appreciation, and knowledge of the art, techniques, and heritage of patchwork, appliqué and quilting in Manitoba.

Welcome to the 2016/2017 quilting year and I am pleased you have found the Manitoba Prairie Quilters guild website. Please poke around and see what interests you. I would like to point out the list of meetings is indicated with a location map. We welcome you to come out for a "test drive" as our guest to any meeting. We have so much to offer with workshops, quilt shows, charity quilts through ABC, special instructors, retreats and guest speakers. Our library is second to none and as a member you have access to this fantastic resource.
When I first came out to MPQ, I was astonished at what the members did with fabric, thread and a sewing machine. I am still amazed by that, but more impressed by their generosity of spirit and willingness to share their knowledge and skills. Take a look into the photo gallery tab to see quilts our members have shared at meetings. Such talent and creativity!
Welcome back to our current members. It is going to be a fun year with your quilting friends and companions. I hope you continue to enjoy the time you spend at the meetings and are ready to try some new skills and polish up some you have previously learned.
Please feel free to approach me at any meeting if you have questions, concerns or "Points of Praise". I love to chat and will do my best to make this a great year for our entire guild.
