President's Message

Thank you for stopping by the Manitoba Prairie Qulters' website. Please feel welcome to poke around and see what our guild is doing this year.

Our biggest event is our Quilt Reflections show to be held April 6 - 8th, 2018 at the Canad Inns Destination Centre Polo Park. We are hard at work making quilts to show, preparing baskets to tempt you in the draws, preparing wall quilts for the silent auction which will support a chosen charity, and inviting vendors to show their wares. The quilts range from traditional bed quilts to fibre art quilts through to very modern designs. If you have never attended a quilt show, we encourage you to come and check it out. If you have been to a Quilt Reflections show before, welcome back!

I invite you to open the photo gallery to see the beautiful quilts our guild members show at meetings. Each of these amazing quilts started as pieces of fabric and a quilter that has learned step by step how to create quilts that become family treasures. The guild members are generous at sharing their expertise and we hold workshops throughout the year to build skills.

Our meetings are listed with directions to the hall in Windsor Park. I welcome you to come visit us for a meeting. We also have a library available to our members that is an excellent resource.

Welcome back to our returning members. I am looking forward to a fun and productive year and a great quilt show in the spring. Please feel free to come speak to me at any time about the meetings, workshops or anything that is a concern. I will do my best to make it a great year for everyone.

This is the work of Laurie Swim of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. I was so pleased to be able to visit her gallery this summer on our travels to the Maritime provinces of Canada.
